History of the amusement park

Phantasialand was opened in 1967. The founders, Gottlieb Löffelhardt and Richard Schmidtez, were involved in the amusement industry from the outset, resulting in a theme park that was well received by visitors from the start. In the 1970s and 1980s, the first theme parks – Berlin and Mexico – were created, as well as the first roller coasters. Later, China Town-style themed attractions were created and Phantasialand gained more new carousels to complete its expansion with the Fantasy and Deep in Africa zones in the 2000s. In 2022, more than 2 million visitors visited the park.
