Heide Park Resort in Soltau is an absolute ‘must go’ for adrenaline junkies and the largest amusement park in northern Germany. Whether your dream is to experience the G-forces of a fighter pilot or you simply want to spend some family time in the world of Peppa Pig, Heide Park has everything you need for the 2026 season.
Heide Park is famous for the Big 7, seven extreme attractions that will make any daredevil scream:
- Colossos – Kampf der Giganten: The tallest and fastest wooden roller coaster in Europe. Speeds of up to 110 km/h and an incredible ‘airtime’ experience.
- Krake: Germany’s first Dive Coaster. The carriage stops at the edge of a vertical drop, only to plunge straight into the jaws of a sea monster moments later.
- Flug der Dämonen: The country’s only Wing Coaster – you sit on the sides of the track with nothing but air beneath your feet.
- Desert Race: A launch coaster that propels you from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.4 seconds.
- Scream: One of the world’s tallest free-fall towers (71 metres of pure free-fall).
- Toxic Garden: A revamped version of the classic suspended rollercoaster set in a dark, post-apocalyptic atmosphere.
- Big Loop: A classic of the genre with loops that have been delighting fans of traditional thrills for years.
For younger children, there is Peppa Pig Land and an interactive ghost hunt in Ghostbusters 5D.
History of the amusement park
The park opened in 1978 on the site of a former deer park. Its founder, Hans-Jürgen Tiemann, gradually transformed it into a modern leisure complex. The turning point came when the park was taken over by the Tussauds group (now Merlin Entertainments), which led to investment in record-breaking attractions such as the aforementioned Colossos. Today, it offers over 850,000 m² of pure fun.
