Playmobil FunPark Attractions

Playmobil FunPark in Zirndorf (near Nuremberg) is a place that breaks the mold of traditional amusement parks. It’s a huge “active playground” where movement, climbing, and imagination are what matter most. At FunPark, the rule is simple: no waiting in lines for rides. Here, the children themselves are the “driving force” behind the attractions.

  • Pirate Ship: A massive ship on the lake that you can climb aboard, steer, and fire water cannons from. Next to it are rafts you can use to float on the water.
  • Knight’s Castle: A massive structure with defensive walls, throne rooms, and secret passages. The perfect place for climbing and playing king.
  • Native American Village and Wild West: Sandy areas with a gold mine where children can sift through the sand in search of “treasures.”
  • Mermaid Kingdom: An aquatic world with canals where you can brush the manes of giant sea horses and play in the sand.
  • Dinosaur World: An educational trail with giant reptiles and an interactive research station.
  • HOB-Center: A gigantic hall (5,000 m²) with a Playmobil town, where you can play with thousands of figures and sets – a lifesaver on rainy days

History of the amusement park

The park was opened in 1991 by Horst Brandstätter (owner of the Brandstätter Group and the “father” of Playmobil’s success). His vision was to create a place that encourages children to be physically active, rather than just sitting passively in rides. Since then, the park has undergone numerous renovations, becoming one of the most popular family attractions in Germany.
