Attractiepark Slagharen is an amusement park located in the eastern part of the Netherlands on the border with Germany. It was opened in 1963 and covers an area of over 80 hectares.
In the park you can find themed zones such as Indian, Yellowstone, New Orleans, Mexican, Wild West and Jules Adventureland. Slagharen is prepared to host families with children as well as older youth. Next to park is located Water Park – Aqua Mexicana.

Slagharen has more than 30 different attractions suitable for younger and older visitors alike.
The most interesting are fast and extreme roller coasters like:

And also the 40-metre high Free Fall tower, big Carousel Tomahawk and the pirate ship The Pirate. In the Aqua Mexicana water park certainly merits attention with its MexiCone or Yukatime slides.
History of the amusement park
Slagharen amusement park was founded by the Bemboom family in 1963 in the eastern Netherlands, in the village of the same name. In the 1970s, the accommodation facilities were expanded, providing customers with more than 300 cottages. A restaurant was built in the park and the number of attractions was significantly increased with more roller coasters or carousels. In 2012, the park was sold to the Spanish group Parques Reunidos, which manages theme parks in Europe and North America. After the takeover, some of the attractions were changed and also in 2015 the Aqua Mexicana water park was created. Today, Themepark&Resort Slagharen, with more than 30 attractions as well as over 600 beds, is one of the largest theme parks in the Netherlands. In 2017, the Slagharen theme park welcomed more than 1 million visitors.

The Slagharen amusement park is open during the warm months – from spring to late autumn. Details can be found on the park’s website. Additionally, for special attractions, such as Halloween or Christmas, the park is opened for several days. It is best to check information on dates before you arrive. Normally, the amusement park is open from 10am to 5pm, although the water park’s opening hours may be shorter. Tickets can be purchased at the Slagharen park ticket offices, as well as conveniently online and save your ticket electronically.
